2017 Chevy Bolt EV Specs and Features

2017 Chevy Bolt EV Release Date

The 2017 Chevy Bolt EV was unveiled today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas before a live crowd and a packed Facebook stream. This all-electric vehicle may not hit the lot here at Broadway for some time but it’s forging new ground on the abilities of electric vehicles. While the future may hold a variety of electric trucks and cars, smaller vehicles like the Bolt are probably the first step.

2017 Chevy Bolt Electric Powertrain

Not a lot is known yet about the 2017 Chevy Bolt powertrain. What we do know is that General Motors estimates that it will offer 200 miles of range on a single full charge and will be available for less than $30,000 in some areas after Federal tax credits. The battery pack will be flat and mounted beneath the interior floor to offer some of the best interior space of any small plug-in.

2017 Chevy Bolt Technological Features

The 2017 Chevy Bolt EV will also feature a number of technological features that will allow it to conserve power as well as offer some of the best driving experiences. Each Bolt will have a floating instrument panel that allows for ample leg room while also containing a 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless charging capability, and multiple cup holders and storage areas.

Other top new technological features include:

  • Rearview camera which transmits images to the rearview mirror for an easy and natural view of the environment
  • Connectivity to the new MyChevrolet Mobile App, which will allow owners to check charging status, activate the vehicle, turn on climate control, check the owner’s manual, or schedule service through their smartphone
  • Surround Vision will make it easier to see all around the 2017 Bolt for easier maneuvering and parking
  • Navigation specifically designed to optimize the electric range of the 2017 Bolt and find charging locations if necessary
  • Future ability to compete with other electric car drivers for top MPGe and driving efficiency

The 2017 Chevy Bolt EV will go into production later this year. We can look forward to an official release date sometime early in 2017. We don’t know everything that will be possible with the new electric 2017 Bolt, but keep an eye on our New Vehicle blog posts for updates on this and other new vehicles as we get them!
