The 2017 Chevy Volt has an advanced lithium-ion battery that sends power to two motors. They work together to deliver power and acceleration to the wheels. The 2017 Volt offers up to 53 miles on battery power alone. Once the battery has been depleted, a gas generator kicks in which can continue sending power through the battery to the vehicle’s motors. On a full charge and a full tank of gas, the 2017 Chevy Volt should be able to go up to 420 miles.

The 2017 Chevy Volt can be charged using a basic 120-volt electric plug, but with a professionally installed 240-volt charging system (like what you would need to run a washing machine or larger air conditioning unit) it can be fully recharged in as little as 4.5 hours. Chevrolet estimates that with regular charging, Volt owners will be able to go 1,000 miles between needing to fill up at the gas pump.
Based on average fuel economy for vehicles on the road today, nearly 58 million gallons of gas have been saved by Volt drivers.
The new Volt offers improved acceleration, a lighter chassis, fuel economy of 106 mpg-e and 42 mpg, and features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone integration.
