2021 Chevy Trailblazer Release Date

The Chevy brand looks to continue growing its utility vehicle and light truck lineup after its reintroduction of the Chevy Blazer this year. What’s next on the docket? Well, the 2021 model year will see the return of another, similarly named SUV from Chevrolet’s past, this time in the form of the Chevy Trailblazer. From 2001 to 2009, the Chevy TrailBlazer midsize SUV was making waves before it was discontinued here in North America. Now, the nameplate makes its return in the form of a compact crossover with a release date of early 2020 – the calendar year.

“The Trailblazer’s great design enables more personalization. Trailblazer is a continuation of the design language for Chevy’s crossover family and extends our momentum into one of the industry’s fastest-growing segments. [Safety and driver-assistance] features deliver added confidence and peace of mind behind the wheel, helping drivers monitor the vehicle’s surroundings and the driving environment with an available combination of camera, short-range radars and ultrasonic sensors.”

– Steve Majoros, Director of Passenger Car and Crossover Marketing, Chevrolet

What do we know so far?

Very little has been revealed about the all-new Trailblazer other than the two images you see here and some very basic info. We know it will slide into the lineup between the Trax and Equinox and that it will have its very own RS trim level, which will feature a standard two-tone roof. We know it will be packed with great safety and driver-assistance features such as Front Pedestrian Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning – all standard – and Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Park Assist and a High Definition Rear Vision Camera as available.

Right now, Chevy has only said that more information on the vehicle’s specs, features and price points will be available later. That’s not very specific, but we expect the LA Auto Show to be the absolute latest time in which we learn more, considering its early 2020 release date.
