How Does The New Engine Intake Work?
The enhanced air intake system allows cool, dry air to easily enter the engine. Traditional air intakes which use air from the truck’s front grille can either be inefficient at bringing cool external air into the engine compartment, or they can let too much moisture in.
With the new air intake system on the heavy-duty 2017 Chevy Silverado, air will be sucked into the engine compartment from a striking hood inlet and a location in one of the front fenders. The air will pass through a space with a 180-degree turn (which will effectively strip it of excessive humidity) and then continue on to the engine.
What Are The Advantages of 2017 Silverado Intake?
The heavy-duty Silverado has long been one of the best commercial vehicles on the market, and with this new air intake system for 2017, the 2017 Chevy Silverado HD promises to be even better than ever. With cooler, dryer air, the Duramax Diesel engine will be able to operate with greater efficiency when heavily loaded, or in wet conditions like the long, brutal Wisconsin winter.
We don’t know much more about the 2017 Chevy Silverado HD (except that it looks very nice) but we can safety assume that it will continue to come outfitted with the great towing and connectivity features (like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) that we have come to love on our heavy-duty trucks.
