How Does Dual FM Radio Reception Work?
The new Ford dual FM radio system on these two 2017 model year vehicles offers a refined way to get the best possible radio sound. In order to get the best analog and HD FM radio reception, the 2017 Ford Fusion and 2017 Ford Escape will feature a second receiver and a rear window heater grid that functions as a second antenna. This dual-receptor system helps the radio choose between weak and overlapping signals to provide drivers and passengers the best listening experience. This means no more talk radio and Oldies running at the same time!
Other Ford Audio Enhancements for 2017
The dual radio sound system isn’t the only enhancement coming to the 2017 Ford Escape and 2017 Ford Fusion this year. Both vehicles will also benefit from standard Automotive Audio Bus technology included on the Sony sound system. This technology will offer high-fidelity audio at a fraction of the weight and complexity of previous sound systems.
The 2017 Ford Fusion will also be available with acoustic laminated glass on the windshields and front doors. This specialty feature on V6 Sport, Platinum, Hybrid and Energi models and with the SE Luxury Package offers an even quieter and more comfortable cabin by blocking out wind and road noise.
