2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport Release Date
While the SE, Limited, and efficiency-oriented Eco trims of the 2017 Hyundai Elantra have already been released, the Sport trim, will not be available here in Green Bay WI until later this year. However, we think that drivers intrigued by premium power along with Elantra style will be willing to wait for this all-new, high-powered model.
2017 Elantra Sport Powertrain
The new Sport trim has received a number of handling and powertrain enhancements compared to other Elantra models. Its turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder produces more than 200 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. Compared to the 147 horsepower on most 2017 Elantra models, and the 128 horsepower on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco trim, that’s a bit more kick. The Sport model is available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed Dual Clutch transmission with paddle shifters.
Elantra Sport Handling Enhancements
The new and more powerful engine is not the only advantage that the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport brings to the roads. This elegant sedan also features an independent multi-link rear suspension to offer even more confident handling. Stylish visual accents exclusive to this trim include a flat-bottomed steering wheel, sport seats, red contrast stitching and unique bodywork.
