What engine options are there for the 2022 Trailblazer?
In all, there are two engine options available for the 2022 Trailblazer, and we will go into both in great detail below including power specs, fuel economy, availability, and more.

Both engine options are ECOTEC turbo options. One is a 1.2-liter engine option and the other is a slightly larger 1.3-liter engine.

2022 Trailblazer 1.2-liter engine specs
First, let’s talk about availability for the smaller 1.2-liter engine. The 1.2-liter ECOTEC engine comes standard on the front-wheel-drive LS and LT models. This engine is paired with an efficient continuously variable transmission.
The 1.2-liter engine provides you with 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. This engine, paired with the CVT, gets up to 29-city mpg and 32-highway mpg making for a very efficient ride and a wonderful baseline for the 2022 Trailblazer lineup.
2022 Trailblazer 1.3-liter engine specs
The 1.3-liter ECOTEC engine comes standard on every Trailblazer with all-wheel drive including the aforementioned LS and LT trim levels. The ACTIV and RS trim levels both include this engine standard with FWD or AWD. The LT trim with FWD also has this engine as an available option.
With a little more displacement, this engine gets a lot more performance. It pumps out 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. The fuel economy is nearly identical in FWD with 29-city mpg and 33-highway mpg. If you get this engine with AWD you still get 26-city mpg and 30-highway mpg.
