New 2024 Hyundai Kona Engine Options and Specs

The Hyundai Kona SE and Kona SEL are powered by a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine married to a Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission to make 31 mpg combined with front-wheel drive. The 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric is a brand-new addition to the lineup and provides drivers with a pair of battery options – a standard 48.6-kWh battery pack and a 64.8-kWh battery pack – that supply electric power to the front wheels. Kona Electric models with the 48.6-kWh battery pack will produce 133 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. Powered by the 64.8-kWh battery pack, the Hyundai Kona Electric makes 201 horsepower with an estimated electric driving range of 260 miles.
