We’ve previously written about the upgrade options for Android Auto on the 2015 Hyundai Sonata, but now we have even better news for the 2016 model year. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be available on the 2016 Hyundai Sonata. This means even better smartphone connectivity options for new Sonata drivers.
2016 Hyundai Sonata Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
New 2016 Sonata sedans equipped with either the seven-inch or eight-inch screen display will come equipped with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Combined with other connectivity features like the Hyundai Blue Link phone-to-vehicle connectivity functions (like remote start, a monthly vehicle diagnostic, locking services, and car-finder features), these two smartphone connection systems mean that iPhone and Android users will be able to easily display and handle phone features through their Sonatas.

While the specific features on these two smartphone connectivity systems differ, both allow drivers to handle calls and music with simple steering-wheel buttons and voice commands, as well as make safe use of navigation technology.
New Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is just one of the latest steps taken by Hyundai to ensure the best driver experience. Advantages like a completely digital interactive user’s manual available for some vehicle models have previously put Hyundai vehicles in the lead of the user experience.
There are good odds that the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid will also come with Apple CarPlay connectivity, but we don’t have solid news yet.
