When you own a small business or have serious truck demands, sometimes you need a lot of versatility with your bed and cargo space, but don’t need the sheer power of a heavy duty truck. Well, now Chevy customers are in luck! GM has recently announced that fleet and retail customers will be able to get a box delete option available on the Silverado 1500, as well as the Chevy Colorado, with a delete box option.

Previously available on the Chevy Silverado HD, this delete box option removes the box, spare tire assembly, and rear bumper. This option is available for a reduced price compared to the version with the box, and also offers features from the Max Trailering Package like high-rate rear springs and a front stabilizer bar. The spare tire assembly can be re-included for a small fee.
“We are in the business of meeting our customers’ needs by providing a range of products and solutions that fit their businesses,” said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of the General Motors Fleet in a November press release. “Light-duty box delete is a direct response to our customers who have been clamoring for it.”
