In this day and age, we can track pretty much everything without our smartphones. From finances, to weight-loss techniques, to finding local events, but now, with the Ford Sync Connect App you have the power to control your Ford vehicle as well with a simple smartphone swipe.
Making its grand debut in the spring on the 2017 Ford Escape, the Ford Sync Connect app will allow you to do a number of things just with a touch of your cellphone. Sync users will have to complete a two-step authentication process to confirm the connection between their phone and their vehicle in order to protect their privacy, and then will have a number of excellent features at their fingertips. Sync Connect will be included for free in the purchase of any properly-equipped new Ford vehicle for five years.
Sync Connect features
With Ford’s new Sync Connect system, drivers will be able to:
- Open or lock door remotely
- Start the vehicle remotely, or even schedule a start time. Need to leave for work at 7:55? You can schedule a remote start for 7:45 and have a nice warm (and defrosted) car waiting for you when you leave (this sounds particularly exciting with winter on our doorstep).
- Check on the health of your vehicle with real-time diagnostic information on oil and battery level, tire pressure readings, and the amount of gas you have left.
- Locate your vehicle with a handy, hand-held map.

Other manufacturers have recently unveiled technology like this in their vehicles, and apps like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have certainly paved the way, but we are excited to experience the new Ford Sync App when it arrives in 2016!
