What is All-Wheel Drive Disconnect?
There are many features that vary based on the trim you decide is best for you and your family. A few examples include the SYNC® 3 Infotainment System, B&O Sound System, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control. While not standard for any specific trim level, one notable feature available in the 2020 Ford Escape is All-Wheel Drive Disconnect.
Complementing its adventurous nature, All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Disconnect is available on AWD models. With this feature, the system automatically detects whether AWD is needed for your current driving conditions. For example, AWD is ideal when you are travelling off-road or if it is raining or snowing. A situation where AWD wouldn’t be needed is if you were cruising on the highway. When you don’t need AWD activated, AWD Disconnect will cut power from the rear wheels to save fuel and reduce drag.
Of course, we only covered a small fraction of the many features available on the 2020 Ford Escape. For help in deciding which trim is right for you, contact us here at Broadway Automotive. If you’d like to continue to browse posts on a variety of vehicles, check out our blog.
