The VW Passat was first introduced as a large family vehicle way back in 1972. The vehicle has undergone a plethora of changes through the decades since, so many in fact that North America now has its very own version of the Volkswagen vehicle, and it’s all-new for the 2020 model year. We thought we’d go over what’s new in the vehicle this coming year ahead of its impending release date.

“Passat is the only midsize sedan to offer German driving dynamics at an affordable price and has long resonated with buyers for its combination of comfort, reliability and driving dynamics. With this new model, we’ve stepped up the style factor and upgraded the technology to make it even more attractive. In addition, we’ve made desirable convenience and driver-assistance features more accessible.”

Specs & Features of the 2020 Passat
With the new Passat, Volkswagen wanted to make sure they were offering more of what mattered rather than adding a bunch of things the customer doesn’t need. That means they redesigned the vehicle’s exterior to fit with the current market, including a dynamic profile that makes the Passat look more like a coupe than a sedan, as well as its dramatic new tornado line and a grille that dominates the front fascia.
It also means they’ve enhanced several aspects of the vehicle from convenience to driver-assistive safety and everything in between them, thanks in large part to new advanced technologies. New standard features inside and outside of the vehicle include App-Connect, Front Assist with Pedestrian Monitoring, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert, full LED lighting and 17” aluminum-alloy wheels. Available features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Park Assist, leather seats, heated rear seats, an Adaptive Front-lighting System and a Fender Premium Audio system.
