As much as you and your kids may want to stay out all night getting treats from all over, Green Bay does institute a curfew for trick-or-treaters to ensure a happy and safe Halloween. Trick-or-treaters are encouraged to get all their goodies from 4-7 p.m. on Halloween night. This is the same time allotted for the surrounding De Pere and Ashwaubenon areas as well.
If you’re more interested in trunk or treat, don’t worry, there’s plenty of opportunities for that too! It’s great for little kids or those who have trouble walking long distances. For a full list of trunk or treat events in the Green Bay and Fox Valley area, check out this page!
Tips for a Safe and Happy Halloween
Halloween may be a spooky holiday, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be safe. Halloween can be a chaotic night with all the trick-or-treaters, but here are some tips to make sure you and your children always stay safe.
First, make sure you have a route that everyone knows and understands. This way, if you were to become separated, you know where to find each other. Adult supervision for children is strongly encouraged whether it be you or a trusted adult.
As far as costumes go, choose face paint instead of a mask as it doesn’t obscure vision and makes kids easier to recognize. Also, make sure children are visible at night by carrying flashlights, glow sticks or have some kind of reflective tape on them.
