Mechanical Enhancements
First, let’s focus on the mechanical enhancements that underpin the Explorer. There are three new engine options available for the 2020 model year, as follows:
- 3L EcoBoost 4-cylinder
- 0L EcoBoost V6
- 3L Hybrid Powertrain
Additionally, a new 10-speed automatic transmission featuring SelectShift capability will comes standard on the vehicle, as will a rear-wheel drivetrain.
