As for trim levels, there are four total available for the 2022 Colorado starting with the WT trim and going up from there with the LT, Z71, and the top ZR2 trim. The bottom three trims are available in either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and the ZR2 comes standard with four-wheel drive. The Colorado is available with either an Extended Cab or a Crew Cab, the latter is available with either a short box or a long box. However, on the ZR2, the Crew Cab is only available with a short box.
When it comes to engines, the Colorado comes standard with an impressive 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that can produce up to 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. This engine can provide up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity. There is also a 3.6-liter V6 engine available with 308 horsepower, 275 pound-feet of torque, and up to 7,000 pounds of trailering capacity.
If you were dreaming of diesel, then you are in luck. The Colorado is available with a 2.8-liter turbo diesel. Though it has the lowest horsepower of the bunch at 181, its torque describes a monster at 369 pound-feet of torque. This amount of torque is what gives the diesel powerplant up to 7,700 pounds of towing capacity.
