There are three available engine options for the 2022 Hyundai Sonata. The SE and SEL trim features a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that can deliver 191 hp at 6100 rpm and 181 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm whereas the SEL Plus and Limited trims are equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine that can push out 180 hp at 5500 rpm and 195 lb.-ft. at 1500-4500 rpm. For the motorheads who are looking forward to a more powerful engine, the N Line and N Line Night edition trims are the obvious choices as they boast a 2.5-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine that has a power rating of 290 hp at 5800 rpm and 311 lb.-ft. at 1650-4000 rpm. All the trims come with Front Wheel Drive (FWD) system as standard and 8-speed automatic transmission while the N Line models have an N 8-speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission with Paddle shifters.
